Kigali, Rwanda – On August 15, 2024, a high-profile delegation from Global Election Observation Missions (GEOM), led by CEO Mboni Abel Lubega, formally presented the final report on the elections held on July 15, 2024. The handover took place at the National Election Commission (NEC) office in Kigali and was received by Vice Chairperson MUTIMUKEYE Nicole.

The report, a culmination of extensive observation and analysis by GEOM’s team, provides a comprehensive review of the electoral process, including the conduct of polling, counting, and the overall administrative management of the elections. The delegation’s visit marked a significant step in ensuring transparency and accountability in Rwanda’s democratic processes.

In his remarks, CEO Mboni Abel Lubega emphasized the commitment of GEOM to supporting democratic practices globally. He highlighted that the report reflects both the strengths and areas for improvement identified during the observation period. Lubega noted, “Our mission is to provide an impartial and thorough assessment of the electoral process, and we are pleased to share our findings with the NEC.”

Vice Chairperson MUTIMUKEYE Nicole welcomed the report and acknowledged the crucial role of international observers in reinforcing the credibility of electoral systems.
