On June 15, 2024, Rwandans cast their votes in a pivotal election that saw President Paul Kagame re-elected with a remarkable 99.18% of the vote. This overwhelming victory has been followed by an impressive inauguration ceremony held at Amahoro Stadium on 11 August 2024 in Kigali, where Kagame is being officially sworn in for another term. The event is a grand celebration of Kagame’s enduring leadership and the democratic process.
Among the distinguished guests at the inauguration are members of the Global Election Observation Mission, led by CEO Mboni Abel Lubega and the Head of Observation Missions, accompanied by Opong Jehosophat, the Media Manager. Their attendance underscores the mission’s ongoing commitment to promoting transparency and fairness in elections worldwide.
The Global Election Observation Mission, renowned for its rigorous and impartial evaluations, plays a crucial role in ensuring that electoral processes are conducted with integrity. The delegation’s presence at Kagame’s inauguration highlighted their dedication to observing and reporting on global electoral practices.
CEO Mboni Abel Lubega remarked on the significance of their attendance, stating, “Being part of such a significant event reaffirms the importance of our mission.
